Our story

Built by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts

Desert Private Collection is a family-owned, owner-led dealership based in Indio, California, near Palm Desert and Palm Springs. Our work began with the same curiosity shared by every serious enthusiast: What makes one car memorable, another historically important, and another simply irresistible to drive?

Over more than 25 years in the automobile business, our experience has grown across classic American cars, European sports cars, vintage trucks, convertibles, exotics, specialty vehicles, and modern collectibles. More than 5,800 vehicles have passed through our sales experience, including hundreds of Corvettes and a wide range of Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Chevrolet, Lincoln, Cadillac, and other enthusiast models.

That volume matters, but the individual automobile still comes first. Each car has its own history, documentation, condition, strengths, compromises, and reason for finding its next owner. Our role is to present those details, answer useful questions, and help buyers and sellers move forward with realistic expectations.

What guides us

The principles behind every conversation

Clear informationWe encourage questions about condition, records, ownership, originality claims, repairs, inspections, and the transaction itself.
Respect for the carA preserved survivor, an older restoration, and a thoughtfully modified driver deserve to be understood on their own terms.
Personal accountabilityOwner Dimitri and the team remain accessible throughout the purchase, sale, consignment, or service discussion.
Long-term relationshipsMany customers return to buy, sell, or consign another vehicle. We value that continued confidence more than a single transaction.

What we do

One collection, several ways to help

Collectors rarely need only one service. A buyer may need additional photographs, an independent inspection, financing guidance, and enclosed transportation. An owner may need an evaluation, consignment plan, cosmetic preparation, restoration discussion, or direct purchase conversation. Our connected services make it easier to see the whole project.

Classic & Specialty InventoryAn ever-changing selection of American and European classics, sports cars, convertibles, trucks, and specialty vehicles. Purchasing & ConsignmentDiscuss selling directly, placing a vehicle on consignment, ownership documents, presentation, and transportation needs. Restoration ProgramBodywork, PPG waterborne color, upholstery, mechanical assessment, reassembly, and a project plan built around the individual car. Dry Ice CleaningVehicle-specific underbody and component cleaning discussions focused on access, preservation, documentation, and scope. Nationwide & Worldwide ShippingTransportation planning for domestic and international buyers, including enclosed-carrier and overseas-shipping considerations. Buying from a distance

Personal service, even when you are thousands of miles away

Many of our customers first see their next classic online. Distance makes communication more important, not less. We encourage buyers to identify the details they want photographed, the records they want reviewed, and the questions they want answered.

A remote buyer may also arrange an independent pre-purchase inspection, confirm purchase terms in writing, verify payment instructions, and plan transportation before pickup. Our buying guides explain these steps so customers can make decisions with better information.
